Accreditation and Passes
Even if you have attended the festival previously, every guest must complete an accreditation form. You can log in with the same username and password as before. Please note that everybody has to fill in a company profile or biography which will be published on the IDFA online guest list.
We have several kinds of passes, and the best pass for you depends on what your main focus is. Every pass offers different benefits at the festival. For more information on passes, detailed information and pricing, please check our accreditation rules & regulations.
We do our best to review and process accreditation requests as soon as possible. Your application will be processed in one to three weeks, depending on time of accreditation and the pass you want to obtain. As soon as the various industry departments have processed your application, you will receive an e-mail from the Guest Services department.
If you are a documentary professional, you are eligible to buy a pass. You can read detailed information on our website, and you will find the accreditation form on your MyIDFA page.
Our industry passes are only available for film professionals. Of course, you are welcome to attend any audience events at the festival. Depending on the amount of films you want to see, we recommend purchasing a strippenkaart for discounted screenings.
No, you can only take part in IDFAcademy once.
No. A pass is valid for the entire festival. If you are here just for a short visit and you're just here to network, we suggest applying for a Festival Light pass or single tickets if you don’t need to visit any industry events.
Unfortunately you cannot transfer your pass to someone else. If you need to cancel, please contact the IDFA Guest Services department as soon as possible. It is only possible to cancel in writing: guestservices@idfa.nl. We hold a no refund policy for passes bought after 20 October.
Please use the ‘forgot your password?’ link to receive an email to reset your password. If you have a new email address, please log in with the old credentials on your MyIDFA and change the email address in your account so that no history is lost. If you have a new email address and you forgot your password, please send an email to guestservices@idfa.nl to have your password reset manually. This ensures that your history is not lost.
Payment
You will receive the invoice as soon as your application is approved. Your application will be processed in one to three weeks, depending on when you submitted an accreditation form and the pass you want to obtain.
You can pay your invoice by credit card. iDEAL is available when you're in the Netherlands for Dutch bank account holders only. Contact IDFA Guest Services at guestservices@idfa.nl if these payment methods don’t work for you.
If you need to cancel, please contact the IDFA Guest Services department as soon as possible. It is only possible to cancel in writing: guestservices@idfa.nl. For cancellations after October 20, we hold a no refund policy.
IDFA Festival and IDFAcademy accreditations are subject to 9% Dutch VAT. IDFA Forum, Docs for Sale, and Producers Connection accreditations are subject to 21% Dutch VAT. Entrepreneurs can submit a claim for refund of the VAT they have paid if:
- they are not required to file a VAT return in the Netherlands
- the Dutch VAT has been charged to them
- the amount of VAT for which they claim refund is at least €50 per calendar year
See Claiming Refund of VAT or the general website of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration for more information.
Practical Information and other
Tickets open up for accredited guests, when the complete festival schedule (including all industry programming) is published on our website.
You can bring a guest, but please be aware that your guest also needs to apply for a pass if he or she wants to attend any industry events (see the question 'What are the requirements for accreditation?' above).
Our main venues for professionals are Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (ITA) at Leidseplein and Felix Meritis on Keizersgracht.
Most screenings as well as the various industry events are held within walking distance of Leidseplein.
No, we don’t offer transportation, but trains go frequently from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station, from which the various IDFA locations around Leidseplein can be reached in approximately 10 minutes by tram.
IDFA doesn't have discount codes for hotels. If you want to be within walking distance of the festival venues, we recommend you book something near Leidseplein. However, we are aware that prices have increased drastically in Amsterdam Centre over the last year. We have excellent public transportation options in Amsterdam, so choosing a more budget-friendly hotel a bit further away from Leidseplein is a perfectly decent option as wel. You can find a metro/tram map of the city here. A more detailed list of suggested hotels for 2023 will be posted soon.
Our online guest list gives an overview of guests and their details (goes online in October). If you are an accredited guest, log in with your MyIDFA to see more details about each guest (including contact details and company profile or biography).
Yes, you can rent a room for private screenings. Please contact Guest Services for more information.
Yes! IDFA offers several programs specially for young audiences, and there's lots more to do in Amsterdam as well. More information for attending Amsterdam/IDFA with children will be available soon.
