We the Wolfs

A family in Ecuador proudly tells of their German ancestor, the explorer Theodor Wolf. Streets, volcanoes and an island bear his name. However, 100 years after his death, a new version of his history is shaking the family's identity. Was Wolf really the hero he is remembered as? A great-great-grandson sets out in search of clues. Gradually, a new image of the family idol emerges, and in its shadow that of a great-great-grandmother about whom silence still prevails to this day. A film about the bright and dark sides of a family, a man and a colonial past that continues to have an impact.
