Raul Niño Zambrano

Raul Nino

Raul Niño Zambrano has been the Creative Director of Sheffield DocFest since 2023. Before joining the festival in 2022, he spent over a decade at IDFA, where he began his journey in 2008 and went on to serve as Senior Programmer. At Sheffield DocFest, Raul leads the festival’s artistic vision and program curation across multiple formats, from shorts and feature documentaries to immersive and interactive works. He has championed new forms of storytelling through the Alternate Realities program, the Podcast Pitch, and most recently, the Queer Realities Director’s Lab, designed to inspire and expand creative boundaries in queer non-fiction storytelling.  

Niño Zambrano has served as a juror for major international film festivals, including the Berlinale Teddy Award, Nordisk Panorama, Morelia International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, and the Taiwan International Documentary Festival. He has also shared his expertise as a tutor and industry mentor at leading events such as DMZ, Al Jazeera Documentary Industry Days, #LINK: RIO, CNEX, and the Bogotá Audiovisual Market. 

Sanneke Huisman

Sanneke Huisman is an art historian working as a freelance writer, researcher, and curator with a focus on media art. She is the co-editor and author, with Marga van Mechelen, of A Critical History of Media Art in the Netherlands: Platforms, Policies, Technologies (Jap Sam Books, 2019). Recent exhibitions she has curated include REBOOT: Pioneering Digital Art (LI-MA and Nieuwe Instituut, 2023); Two Songs (Netherlands Pavilion, 15th Gwangju Biennale, 2024); Tec Art (Katoenhuis Rotterdam, 2025); GOGBOT Festival (Enschede, 2025); and Silence and the Presence of Everything (Monopole Schiedam, 2025).  

Huisman writes about contemporary art for magazines and museums, and she is a guest lecturer at various Dutch art academies and universities, including ArtEZ University of the Arts and the University of Amsterdam. She also works as an advisor for Cultuurloket DigitALL and the Creative Industry Fund NL.  

Tamara Shogaolu

Tamara Shogaolu

Tamara Shogaolu is an Emmy® Award-winning, Peabody-nominated director, writer, and artist whose work merges cinematic storytelling with bold experimentation. Recognized by Forbes, The Guardian, and Vogue for her visionary approach to narrative and technology, she creates immersive worlds that bridge emotion and innovation, reimagining how histories are remembered, and futures envisioned. Her acclaimed projects have been presented at MoMA, IDFA, Tribeca, SXSW, Annecy, Sheffield Doc/Fest, and museums and galleries worldwide. She has been supported by the Sundance Institute, where she received the Stars Collective Imagination Award, and has collaborated with Netflix, Black Public Media, PBS, Frontline, Sony Pictures Animation, Unity, and Niantic.

Shogaolu has presented her work and practice at leading institutions and festivals around the world, including Harvard, MIT, Yale, and Web Summit. She leads Ado Ato Pictures, an Amsterdam- and Los Angeles–based studio shaping new frontiers in storytelling through film, immersive media, and contemporary art.
