Call for entries: IDFA Bertha Fund Europe – Minority Co-Production

The IDFA Bertha Fund is now accepting project entries to the IBF Europe – Minority Co-production funding scheme. The deadline for entries is April 14, 2025.

With this call, the Fund seeks to encourage European producers to participate as a minority co-producer in high-quality feature-length documentary projects by filmmakers from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Oceania. IBF Europe – Minority Co-Production caters to documentary projects in all stages of production, offering a maximum contribution of €40,000 per project. Due to funding restrictions regarding confirmed financing and delivery, the ideal stage of the projects is late production and further.

Films that were recently supported in this category include No Other Land (dir. Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal, & Rachel Szor), Songs of Slow Burning Earth (dir. Olha Zhurba), The Brink of Dreams (dir. Nada Riyadh & Ayman El Amir) and Farming the Revolution (dir. Nishtha Jain).

In line with the Fund’s mission, the selection committee will pay particular attention to supporting producers from countries with limited national co-production funding schemes, or from countries that are not yet fully involved in international co-productions. Check the complete list of MEDIA sub-program countries and the IBF Europe country list to see if you and your project are eligible.
