Send us your films to be considered for the 39th edition of IDFA, taking place from November 12 to 22, 2026.

From bold debuts to urgent artistic statements, IDFA brings together documentary films that engage with the world in radically different ways. Across competitions, program sections such as Signed and Paradocs, and premiere presentations throughout the festival, the program reflects a wide range of cinematic languages and perspectives—films from every corner of the globe that challenge form, shift perception, and open up new ways of looking at reality.

This diversity is rooted in IDFA’s belief in the power of creative documentary as a free and artistic lens on the complexities of society. These are films that can sharpen our understanding of the world, reveal what is fragile or at stake, and act as a catalyst for both personal reflection and public conversation.

Film entries for the 39th edition of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam are now open. Taking place from 12 to 22 November 2026, the festival invites filmmakers to submit their work for consideration.

Every entry is reviewed thoroughly by IDFA’s team of international selectors, with the selection process overseen by IDFA’s Artistic Director. The full program team will be announced in the coming period.

Before submitting your film, please read the entry regulations and FAQ carefully. By entering your work, you confirm that you have read and accepted the full regulations.
