The call for entries to IDFA Forum, Docs for Sale, and Forum Observer accreditation is now open. This year, IDFA Forum introduces several changes to better reflect current market realities—starting with a refreshed format and a move to new, central locations.

In a nutshell

Looking for a quick overview?

Industry Program centralized around Leidse square

In 2025, IDFA’s Markets are moving closer to the festival heart. All Forum and Docs for Sale activities are now centered around Leidseplein, with most events taking place in and around Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (ITA). IDFA DocLab Forum will move closer the rest of the New Media program at @droog. Docs for Sale will be hosted at Het Documentaire Paviljoen in Vondelpark—a short walk through the park from ITA.

Industy locations in 2025:

  • IDFA Forum: ITA
  • IDFA Forum Rough Cut presentations: Pathé City
  • DocLab Forum: @droog
  • Docs for Sale: Het Documentaire Paviljoen
  • Press & Industry screenings: Pathé City
  • Industry Program and Talks: ITA and De Balie
  • IDFAcademy: De Balie

This new layout brings Forum participants and different types of passholders closer together, creating more opportunities for spontaneous meetings and shared experiences.

Please note: Access to certain venues (including ITA and De Balie) may vary depending on your accreditation type and the day.

IDFA Forum evolves

This year, IDFA Forum is evolving. Affirming the need of international co-production as a major financing model for artistic documentary films, the Producers Connection projects will take center stage along the Forum Pitch projects.

What’s new?

  • Producers Connection and Forum Pitches: Both categories will meet at ITA as part of the same program, taking place on Monday and Tuesday morning.
  • Producers Connection is now open to all Forum guests: Giving wider access to a space designed for exploration phase for financial structure and creative vision.
  • New thematic informative panels: Featuring broadcasters, funds, and other key players sharing up-to-date financing mandates and strategies.

By adapting the format, IDFA Forum continues its commitment to supporting filmmakers in creating groundbreaking documentary films.
