Goodbye Heroes

Goodbye Heroes follows Miša and Zdenko, former Yugoslav child partisans now in their nineties, as they fight to preserve a decaying WWII memorial to fallen young fighters like themselves. Once symbols of a socialist future Miša, a beloved actor, and Zdenko, an unyielding secret agent they now live in quiet obscurity, sidelined by a society eager to forget. When Vladimir, a filmmaker shaped by their legacy, joins their resistance, the story unfolds through rare archival footage, observational sequences, and personal narration a poetic, often ironic meditation on memory, disillusionment, and the dignity of refusing oblivion.
