Synopsis
A group of extraordinary women fight to transform the lives of mothers and new babies in their beloved township. Across 1001 days, our film follows three fearless and charismatic home visitors Zanele, Thandiwe and Khosi. They are mothers from the heart of Alexandra Township who support hundreds of new mothers, during some of their happiest–and lowest–moments.
The film explores the importance of the first 1001 Days and the importance of mothers and babies receiving help during this time. They support new mothers struggling with loneliness, poverty, abuse, addiction and mental health issues, and is globally relevant.
