Year-Round Online Subscription

The Docs for Sale subscription is designed for industry professionals who acquire or exhibit documentaries as part of their core business.  

This includes: 

• Television and platform buyers 
• Distributors and sales agents 
• Festival programmers.  

All subscription requests are subject to a vetting process to ensure access is limited to industry professionals.

The online subscription gives you access to the same catalogue presented during the festival—available anytime, from anywhere.  

The platform includes: 

• Full films or episodes of series 
• Key information on the film team 
• Available versions 
• Contact details for rights holders 

You can apply for by filling out the request form. If approved, access to the catalogue is granted upon payment of the invoice and remains valid for one year. The subscription does not renew automatically. If professionals wish to renew their access, they need to fill out the request form again. 

The catalogue is accessed using your MyIDFA account. 

The subscription gives you year-round access to the catalogue. If you wish to attend the Docs for Sale market in Amsterdam during IDFA, you can apply for a Docs for Sale Acquisition accreditation.

Docs for Sale focuses on creative documentaries with international appeal, that can speak to different audiences, including theatrical and festival exhibition, television broadcast, and streaming platforms. 

The Docs for Sale catalogue includes: 

• A large selection of films from IDFA’s Official Selection 
• Titles selected through the Docs for Sale open call, including short films and series 
• Current slates from leading documentary sales agents  

Non-fiction genres such as nature documentaries, travelogues, informational films, or corporate films are not included in our catalogue. 

A new Docs for Sale catalogue is released each year in November, approximately two weeks before IDFA begins. Eligible films must be completed after September 1 of the previous year.  As the catalogue spans two cycles, subscribers may have access to two editions at once (for example, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027), depending on when they subscribe. 

• Filters and search titles from the latest edition of IDFA across themes and formats. 
• Contact film representatives directly via the Docs for Sale platform 
• Rights holders can track and download reports of viewing activity. 
• Attend the physical Docs for Sale market during IDFA (with accreditation) 

A one-year subscription costs €180 (excl. 21% VAT).  

The subscription is valid for 12 months from the time the payment has been accepted by the Docs for Sale team and includes a Docs for Sale Acquisition pass to the upcoming edition of the IDFA festival.
