The South Korean Delegation returns to IDFA with eight projects, out of which one will receive the Sunny Side of the Doc Award, and will be the host of the K-DOC Night party and breakfast meetings at Felix Meritis.

South Korea Delegation has been coming to IDFA since 2013, and this year it is led by the Korea Communication Agency (KCA), with support from EBS International Documentary Festival (EIDF) and Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA), key supporter of Global Pitching Academy, a six-week training program that introduces emerging producers and directors to the international documentary scene.

Eight projects will be presented on the Korean Pitching Day, on November 11 from 14:30–17:00 in the Plein Foyer of International Theater Amsterdam, including Aboozar Amini's Kabul, Year Zero, which is also taking part in IDFA Forum. After the pitching session, Sunny Side of the Doc programming and training coordinator Jean-Jacques Peretti will select one project to be awarded two free accreditations and a fee waiver to submit a project for one of their pitch sessions.

The full list of projects is below, and detailed descriptions and schedule of pitching can be found here.

  • Breakin' Tanzania by Jimin Seo (South Korea)
  • Baby Jackfruit Baby Guava by Quang Nông Nhật (Vietnam, South Korea)
  • NADIA by Chang-yong Moon (South Korea)
  • The Tango Lesson by Hyuckjee Park (South Korea)

In addition, the Delegation will organize the Korean Documentary Filmmakers’ Networking Party on November 12, and from November 13 to 15 it will host breakfast meetings and networking with international guests attending IDFA 2023.
