Announced: the recipients of the NFF + IBF Minority Co-production grant
The IDFA Bertha Fund and the Netherlands Film Fund are delighted to announce this year’s NFF + IBF Minority Co-production selection. A grant of €50,000 has been awarded to two documentary projects with a Dutch co-producer to support its realization.
Launched in 2019, the NFF + IBF Minority Co-production funding scheme sets out to support international co-productions previously supported by the IDFA Bertha Fund and that have a minority Dutch co-producer.
The projects selected this year are 'Oh Heart Don't Be Afraid' by Ana Kvichidze and 'Before the Fire' by Angel Giovanni Hoyos, both familiar names to IDFA. 'Oh Heart Don't Be Afraid' was selected for IBF Classic production in 2023 and director Ana Kvichidze participated in IDFAcademy in 2023. 'Before the Fire' has previously been selected for IDFA Forum Producers Connection in 2023.

Dachi is a queer person (they/them) from a religious place in Georgia, oppressed by the Archbishop, a religious society, and even their own family. They find an old witch and, taught and empowered with her magic spells, they begin to change reality.
Before the Fire

A Mapuche community in Argentina defends its right to return to their ancestral land and reclaim its traditions. When two hitmen take the life of one of their own, the struggle intensifies.
