Polish Delegation brings four projects in development
The Polish Docs Pro Delegation Project Presentation includes new projects by Agnieszka Zwiefka and Małgorzata Szumowska
The Polish Delegation at IDFA is once again led by Polish Docs Pro, which focuses primarily on the wide‐ranging promotion of the Polish documentary film industry at international events. It supports filmmakers and producers in developing their projects by facilitating access to markets, pitching forums, and co‐production meetings; presenting the projects, production models, and co‐production opportunities with Poland; organizing networking meetings; and participating in lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and training sessions.
This year they will present four projects, including Superhumans, the return to documentary form by one of Poland's most acclaimed filmmakers, Małgorzata Szumowska, and Eastern Trees by Agnieszka Zwiefka (pictured on top), whose last film Vika! is in the Docs for Sale catalogue this year, and whose The Queen of Silence world-premiered in IDFA's competition in 2014.
The project presentation will take place on November 13 at 14:00 in ITA's Pleinfoyer, and the full list of projects is below.
- Eastern Trees - Agnieszka Zwiefka (Poland, Germany, Denmark)
- Go&See - Julia Kuzka (Poland)
- Hasan's Joy - Natalia Pietsch & Grzegorz Piekarski (Poland)
- Superhumans - Małgorzata Szumowska (Poland)
The presence of Polish films at IDFA, which includes Vita Maria Drygas's Danger Zone world-premiering in International Competition, as well as a number of films in other programs, and two projects taking part in IDFA Forum, A Hole in the Wall by Arjun Talwar and Flowers of Ukraine by Adelina Borets, will be celebrated at the Guests Meet Guests networking event hosted by Polish Docs and HBO Max on Sunday, November 12 at 18.00 at Boom Chicago.
