Synopsis

In 1993 Copenhagen, Danish-Italian citizen Francesco Gullino, codenamed Piccadilly, faces interrogation for the 1978 Umbrella Murder of Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov on London's Waterloo Bridge. Markov was assassinated by a secret service agent using a poisoned umbrella, making global headlines. Piccadilly, a cunning spy for the Bulgarian Secret Service, operates in the West during the Cold War. Despite compelling evidence, he evades charges and disappears. A friend investigates Piccadilly's double life but dies mysteriously. The story unfolds across Europe, revealing Piccadilly's espionage and ends in Austria for a final showdown.
