After over two decades working at IDFA, Laurien is venturing into new adventures. IDFA is grateful for her loyalty and her dedication to what matters to us: supporting film professionals through finding the right business connections. She shaped Docs for Sale and fostered and expanded IDFA’s international network through her programming activities.

“We will miss Laurien dearly. I am sure that her next steps will be exciting and that she will keep on enriching our community for years to come, with her professionalism, her dedication, and her exceptional generosity. I am sure that her next chapter will be exciting, full of joy and fulfillment. She will always be part of the IDFA family,” says Orwa Nyrabia (Artistic Director).

“I will miss her sharp observations and critical eye. Over the years, she always kept an eye out for filmmakers making valuable connections and networks, putting in her effort and warmth to maximize what IDFA can offer,” says Adriek van Nieuwenhuyzen (Head of Industry).

“After more than 20 years working at IDFA it feels like the right moment to move on and start new adventures. I have lots of beautiful memories of all those years, I got to travel to places that I wouldn’t have gone otherwise, and I met lots of lovely people, many of whom became my friends. I am very thankful to be part of the doc community and trust our paths will cross again soon,” says Laurien ten Houten.
